Grease Stains: Grease stains are formed due to spilling of oily food items or any substance containing oil. Blotting of the oil is the first thing you should do when your furniture is stained by grease. Then, simply put some talcum powder on the stained area to absorb the remaining oil, later wipe off the powder. Do not apply water or any other liquid when the furniture is stained with oil or any other greasy substance.
Standard height tables have a formal appeal unlike the counter height tables that have more of a contemporary look. Hence, the latter is generally not the best choice for a formal dinner with the family, and other formal events. Also, if your house has a traditional theme, then it is best to opt for a standard height table.
Some people prefer to get the peeling and distressed paint look of antique furniture. This style is suitable mostly for the kitchen and the family room. The usual colors are white, red, green, yellow or blue. First, start with sanding the furniture, and then apply latex paint. When the paint has cured, sand it once again in certain spots to get the worn out look. A slight touch of dilute paint here and there on your painted furniture will improve its visual appeal.
